Hi, I'm not familiar with solaris and am hoping someone can help me on this simple issue I'm having.. I tried search on the internet for answers but can't find anything. I installed solaris 10 no problem, very simple. Now I can login as root. I can create a new user account and login as them and everything works great. But how do I ssh? I tried sshing to the server and it's able to connect. But passwords don't work. I tried logging in as root and it says bad login. I tried logging in as newly created users and it says bad login... what do I do to make this work?

look for openssh.org and download the tar file. you can compile and install the ssh demon then ( the .tar contaings README )

once you install it, ssh is up and running, then you can connecting using ssh client to the demon running on ur sun system.

SSH is already installed on Solaris 10. Use the svcs command to determine if it is online. Check the manual pages (#man svcs) on it and the svcadm to determine how to turn services on and off. You can furter tweak and configure SSH in the /etc/ssh/ directory.
