Subject: total time spent for IO requests
OS: Solaris 5.9
CPU/Ram: 2 Gigabyte
Comment:

Hello,

I am testing SNMP agent on SUN server. By using SNMP, I can get many performance values. an example is below.

As can be seen in this examle, parameter names (counter names) and values are present. There are some very small descriptions for these counters.
e.g. gsupOSIOAvgWaitTime is "wait time per IO request".
gsupOSIOCompletedTransfers is "number of completed IO requests".
gsupOSIOTotalWaitTime is "total time spent waiting for completion of IO request".

I have to test these counter values, I am searching these values are correct or not. For this purpose, I am investigating unix commands.

can anyone help me for this subject? How can I verify these values by using unix commands/tools/utilities? What is the solution/method?

Thanks,

zekos muslu
