Comment: Hi, I need help on my workstation ULTRA 10 440Mhz 512MB Solaris 2.5 Its been running for 5 years now with no turning off.We are using the machine as a NMS for our satelite systems. Now the machine hangs and having this errors. 1 Panic [cpu0]/thread=0x3001 fec0:CPU0 Multiple UE Errors: AFSR 0x00000001 00300000 syncing file systems..... UE Error: ASFR 0x00000001 80300000 AFAR 0x00000000 021fb6c0 SIMM DIMM1 syncing file systems....3 done 3033 static and sys map kernel pages these errors appeared everytime i reboot the system and after approximately 5 minutes of operation, the systems hangs idicating the above errors. I have rebooted the machine 5 times now and these errors keep appearing after a few minutes of operation, then i've shutdown the machine to rest for about 2-3 hours. then it happened again. Can anyone help me regarding in fixing this problem. Youre help will be greatly appreciated... tristan_textron

Reply: Did you try to replace your SIMM/DIMM Memory stick, probably one of them or all broken, try this first. it could be also cpu but try memo first to me it's sdound like hardware issue Smile and don't be panic :-) Bye Itamar itamar.ilouz@hcahealthcare.com

Reply: hi, thanks for the advice, i think it is in the memory, we haven't replace the memory but we check it by simply move the memory to another slot, and started it went ok, but in a few hours, the error FAST DATA MMU MISS appears. we are planning to replace the whole cpu. can i ask what else can we do before we replace it with a new one, maybe a possble solution or error analyzation..

Reply: Run the memory with a reduced config (eg - 1 dimm if possible). If this errors, try the other dimm. Its about elimination. I would suggest that it will only be 1 dimm and not both. Finally: Do NOT replace the CPU without eliminating the memory as the problem - you may introduce another fault to the system by adding to it. My advice - go the memory route.
