Comment: hello,everyone: when i use the solaris8,i edit the file /etc/default/login; i was edit the row console=/dev/console,i cut the :/dev/console",leave behind the "console=".when i reboot the system ,it was tell me "not on system console....". How can i do?

Reply: If you want to be able to connect as root from other than the console, you should have commented out the line instead of altering it. The computer now expects that the only secure console is non existant. You might be able to su to the root account and fix this. Otherwise follow the same repair proceedures as fixing a missing root password or damaged /etc/passwd file. Boot single user from cd and repair the error.
