Comment: We are having random dropped indivicual characters or sometimes blocks of data dropped from printouts. Our setup is an RS6000 running AIX 3.4 to an HP Jetdirect 500x (3 port print server) to a Tally Genicom T2280 dot matrix printer. We had similar problems when using a Lexmark 2400 series printers. These are random errors, cannot be reproduced on demand, and occur at separate branch offices. Any ideas of where the most likely culprit is?
