Manufacturer/Model: Compaq EVO N160
Comment:

I have a W2K CD with SP4 slipstreamed. While still running Win98, I imaged the CD to an ISO file, then used UltraISO to add a couple new folders containing drivers and base software. After I confirmed that the image was still bootable and that it didn't contain any obvious errors, I burned it to a CD and attempted to do a clean install.

While still in the first part of text mode setup, I get a message that says:

Please insert the disk labeled
Service Pack 4 CD
into Drive A:
Press ENTER when ready

I've never seen a clean install give this error, and I also have no A: drive in this laptop.

Help!

There is a file in the root directory of the CD that lets setup know that SPx is installed on the CD. Without this file, the setup won't know where SPx is installed, that is why it giving that error. The file in question is cdromspX.tst, and it must be in the root directory. Since you dont have it, you probably missed putting on the image, and you would have to reslipstream it again. Tack Tech Corp. has a good tutorial on how to slipstream the setup. it is here:
