Comment: I have a 2003 server as a DC with a router doing the DHCP & DNS for clients. All users logon to the DC just fine but my gpo settings are not working after a little digging I think I have a DNS problem dcdiag says msdcs couldn't resolve to an ip address but it is pingable... Any ideas Thanks Tom

Reply: "with a router doing the DHCP & DNS for clients" You do realize AD runs on MS DNS? If you aren't using ms dns how do you think AD is going to work? Your 2003 server should be doing these funtions Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search

Reply: I think you might be digging just a little to deep. If your domain group policies aren't working, try making sure that the users or groups are set for delegation for the OU you're trying to push the policies down to. In Group Policy Managment Console (GPMC.MSC), go down to the OU that you want the policies to effect and check the delegation tab.
