I am new to server administration and require assistance with group file permissions. Ill get straight to the problem:

When I go to C:\Documents and Settings, I am able to access folders that belong to other users. This shouldnt be the case, I will like to restrict access to folders belonging to the authorsied users. i.e. If fp33 logs into a terminal, they can only access folder fp33 in documents and settings. If an attempt is made to access another folder i.e. ts22, they will receive a message, "access denied".

Im sorry for my limited knowledge but can someone pls assist?

If you're accessing the files/folders as Admin, then that's normal. Admins SHOULD have Full Control.

Regular users by default will not have access to other profiles. Login with a regular user account, and you'll see.

All users have access to other user profiles and this is becoming a nuisance in the office. I am not using an Admin account, im just using my terminal session account.

By defaults users should not have access to other user profiles but at the moment they are.

Please assist

Are you sure that the user IDs they're using aren't in the Local Administrator Group?

I have seen that the home folders is not set for all users in active directory users and computers.

Could this be the problem?

Doubtful. Even if there is a home folder (user share) setup on the server for each of your users, there will still/always be a profile in the Documents and Settings folder on the local machine. Unless you redirect/move the profile location of course.

You didn't answer my question though.
