Comment: Hi I am using Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition. I have a shared folder (Pulbic) on D: of server. It contains subfolders for all users with their respective names. I want whenever user login on a client machine he can see the his mapped folder in My Computer list.Ascept his folder can access Other users folder should not access through my network places. Thanks

Reply: Set the permissions so that only Administrators and the correct user can access the shares. Make them Admin shares, (with a $) so that only people who know the exact path would even know they exist. Then, in the user profile, set the Home folder to the correct share. Seems like you're new to Server, so I'd recommend purchasing a good book and learning how to Administer AD properly and securely. Life's more painless for the brainless.

Reply: I totally disagree. If you're Administering a Server in an AD environment, you need to know all about it, not JUST file and folder permissions (which are only a part of AD). Life's more painless for the brainless.
