Subject: Port Forwarding HelpOS: Server 2003CPU/Ram: 4 XeonsManufacturer/Model: Dell PowerEdge 1U |
Comment: Hello, We have a server running Windows Server 2003. The unit has 2 NICs. One is connected to the main WAN and has a fixed IP address (10.192.X.X) and the other is a fixed ip address (192.168.1.200) connected to s switch that has several devices on it. One of the devices is an IP camera. I would like to set the system up so that a user on the WAN can surf in a browser to //servername:81 and the 2003 server forwards to the camera so the user can actually log into the camera and/or watch the live java video stream. Would anyone be able to help me with this? I am not a technical person re:servers and networking though. I did once have this setup like this with an XP machine hosting the small network. It was fairly easy on XP, but I am just dumbfounded doing this on Server 2003. Thank you in advance for any thought and/or help on this. Sincerely, David

Reply: You will need to open the port on your firewall/router and point port 81 to the camera devices IP address. SBS Specialist extraordinaire!!
