Comment: hello there.. i have one DC domain name : zul.com computer name :london and I wanted to create a child domain (europe.zul.com ) in another server (computer name : sec ) now .. after i created child domain in this server i dis some changes and i saw same changes in DC (london). but the problem is i can not see the domain name as "europe.zul.com" i can see it as "zul.com" in server "sec". is it supposed to be europe.zul.com ? and another thing is when i shut down DC (london) i should be able to promote child domain to DC but here is no poromoting option in dcpromo utulity... please help me.. thnks in advance.....

Reply: Highly advise you get a book on Active Directory and review it. There is no such thing as promoting a child domain to be a domain controller. Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search
