I understand that pirating is wrong & illegal.
Now with that said, can I use a "version" of server 2003 to learn on? If not, then how can I learn it? I need to have a major crash course and late at night is the best time for me to mess with it. I don't have alot of money, so I cant buy it. There is a company that uses it that I want to work for, but I need to know it's ins and outs first.
Thank you.

P.S. I only need to learn to use it, I don't need to actually keep any specific records, or anything that matters. So if I could install it, run it, use it to learn, then get rid of it, that's fine too.

Old stuff that still works, somewhat....

I don't know if there's a "time-bomb" version of 2003 or not but I'd wager there is. Microsoft used to give out the time-bomb version's of their software solely for people to check out the OS and practice on it. If memory serves me, they were usually good for 90 days.

I'd check on their web site or on google.

I think you can still download a 180 day copy from MS. If not then you can get a 70-29x book or series that has it. Otherwise you can get the server2008 either in disk or VM from MS.

The 70-29x series is really as good as any bootcamp course if you are willing to study yourself. Every example is there. All the questions are almost word for word.

I have used the 180 day deal over a few times. I put it on a very old laptop that really takes a long time. MS didn't seem to mind giving me a new key. I also have more than a few disks with various keys.

See the MS site for what they have. As usual you may have to poke around. See also the technet site.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

If you want to learn, FIND the money. Barrow it from a friend or relative. Then buy a TechNet Plus subscription for $350 - that's about HALF the price of Server 2003 retail. Technet includes FULL versions of MOST Microsoft Software so you can learn and play as much as you like. It also includes a DVD with HUNDREDS of hours of training videos for a WIDE variety of Microsoft technologies. And, it even includes 2 free calls to Microsoft PAID support (typically costing $245 each).

That said, you can also try the virtual labs:
