Client is running Win XP 2002 SP2 Server is running Win Server 2003 SE SP2 Any ideas why I can't RDP? At the same time I can RDP to other machines. I am going to check firewall..but anything else that needs to be checked? Networkid

Reply: Wanderer, I am unable to RDP to machine that is already have RDP enabled on it. I have confirmed this twice. I have already disabled the Windows Firewall service but doesnt make any difference. Though I can ping to it. Could be port 3389 not listening? Thank You

Reply: 3389 is the required port for RDP. You could do a netstat on the machine and see if it is listening on port 3389. The likelyhood though is a firewall in between. How are you using RDP though? Is it over the internet or on the same subnet? SBS Specialist extraordinaire!!
