Comment: Hi, after a number of hours with no joy I am going to seek help of people who post on here. I am trying to set my server as a VPN server, I manage to do this, I grant the use permissions etc and try to connect from a windows xp machine on the same network. When I try to sign onto the VPN as administrator I get the error "cannot retrieve protocol information". Sometimes this error is accompanied with error 6 and other time error 668. I can connect to the server as I have been administrating it via RDC. I am not sure how to fix this. The error comes up when I see "registering the computer on the network" in the status window. Thanks for reading Matt I am not a qualified professional so please do tell me if im wrong with my ideas and suggestions.
