VPN connection issues

Ok so i setup a clients to connect to my VPN created on my server 2003. Although the directions i got from Microsoft said that a wizard should appear. Well mine didn't should i uninstall and reinstall? the RAS server that is under manage my server? I added the user to the RAS group and allowed connection through the Dial in tab. I even put the computer as part of the RAS group. Now i was trying to connect to it while on its network :) lol But in my mind that should be a definite connection. i dont have any permissions or rules i should say that would not allow me to connect to it from same network. what i did for firewall was simple well a fail safe in my thinking . Added server 2003 to DMZ zone and connected to my ip (not my 192.168.1.x ip)the actual ip to my cable modem.

And i connected via VPN on client the right ip address and the user i let into the RAS group.

Any other ideas

And when you try to connect with the client, do you see any messages at the client "dial-up" box?

Vary confusing! are you Trying to do a costom settup, if so then you will have manual assign internet IP and LAN ip. Try doing the VPN and NAT settup. this will allow you to select different options.

if you get it to work don't connect your VPN though a network with the same IP rang as your home network.

I simply tried to setup a VPN Server through server 2003 ent edition. I dont remember exactly how just went to remote access section and creating a hoast to connect to .
Then i tried to setup a connection for an xp bow to the server yes it was on same LAN will that couse problems? and why? and how do i get aroud it if so ?
