Hello,

I had a dual OS on my HD, one stand for Win XP which it is on C drive and the second is Win server 2003 on D drive.

I tried to the Win XP, but a screen appear noticed that NTDETECT Failure then the computer restarted, so i tried to boot the Win Server 2003 but it seems that the Win Server 2003 have the same problem.

I asked for a help for this problem, they answered me to boot the computer from the Win XP Bootable CD and then access the windows setup then choose R (repair) then copy the file below to Win XP and Win Server 2003:

1) ntdetect.com
2) ntldr

the problem was solved for win Xp but it did not worked for the Win Server 2003, so i tried with the win server 2003 bootable CD and copying the same files ,,,,, but it did not WORK.

Please i need a help

What you need to realize is that those files have two different versions. The xp version and the 2003 version. The 2003 version can boot both but the xp version can't boot 2003.

You need to the 2003 versions.

The advice should have been not the xp but the 2003 versions of these files.

Your goal is to overwrite the XP versions with the 2003 versions. Try coping again perhaps from xp reading the 2003 cd and coping those files to the root of c: [not d: if that is what you did because d: is not the boot [MS calls it a system partition] for the 2003 boot]

Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search

Hi wanderer,

Thank you very much for your suggestions,
but i wanna tell you something, C drive has the XP on it, D drive has the 2003.

Xp is now running without any problems, but the problem is in the 2003, i can not boot it again coz a black window appear with any identications for logining to 2003.

Did you mean that i should copy the files again to C drive from 2003 CD, without any modifications for 2003( D drive ).

Your help will greatly appreciated....
