Comment: I have setup two Win2k8 boxes, one is a Domain controller and the other is a SQL2k5 box. The SQL Box is joined to the domain and I have myself as a domain user set in the domain admin group in AD. But when I login under my domain account I am not admin on any of the boxes locally so cannot setup SQL correctly. When I add Domain Admins or myself to the local admin group the entry shows up untill I click the OK button. When I go back into see the members of the groups the domain level entries are not showing up. What am I doing wrong? M Lynch

Reply: Re-join to Domain (you dont have to go back to workgroup) from network ID - make sure it adds the local account to the PC, and give it administrative rights. Manually entering it alot of times does not work, or does not hold. Thanks for any input.
